I primed an appropriate area on the floor and used snapped lines and 3-4-5 triangles to make a true 10'x16' rectangle. Then I created a one-foot grid and used this to make a cartoon of the image with charcoal. I had the pleasure of working with Claire Dana and the lovely people at IRT during a month long internship. During the course of this internship I worked on several projects and helped develop samples while focusing primarily on this large translucent drop. I helped stretch the 20'x40' raw muslin and size it with starch. I used chalklines and 3-4-5 triangles to square the image and cartooned the image on brown paper which i prepared as a pounce using an electro-pounce device. I was then allowed to transfer the cartoon and do all line work. We wanted some fresh visual comedy to accompany this character so I decided that the enemas and high colonics that he administers to Argan daily should viscerally feel like a bad idea to our audience: hence this abomination.
